Creating a Mixed Media Stenciled Background

I created this card for the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Wishes release earlier this month. I wanted another chance to use the fabulous new Distress Spritz colors.

1. Blend Seedless Preserves and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of white cardstock.

2. Apply Translucent Crackle Paste over Octo Stencil. Remove stencil and let dry.

3. Once dry spray panel with Seedless Preserves and Prize Ribbon Distress Spritz. Let dry.

4. Splatter with White Acrylic Spray. Let dry.

5. Die cut Fancy Create Wafer die three times from Pitch Black Cardstock. Adhere together and spray with Seedless Preserves Distress Spritz.

6. Heat Emboss sentiment from Create Stamp Set with White Detail Embossing Powder. Cut into a strip or cut out with coordinating dies.

7. Cut stenciled panel to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhere to an A2 panel of Pitch Black Cardstock. Place on an A2 card base.

8. Adhere both sentiments. Add strip with foam tape.

9. Add Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems across card.

This is not my typical style but I liked experimenting with something new. They crackle paste is so fun. I love the additional texture it adds.

Thanks for visiting!
