This card featuring the Cascading Coneflowers Collection from Spellbinders and Simon Hurley may be a little over the top but in my opinion it just works. After coming up with the idea for the background, I needed to make my flowers stand out in some way. Cutting the flowers a second time and separating them with a foam square really made a difference and helped them stand out on a busy background.
1. Die cut the pieces from the Wild Coneflowers Dies out of Dahlia, Beeswax, Coral, Truffle, Acorn and Fern ColorWheel Cardstock. Cut the flower dies twice and leaves and stems once.
2. Assemble each flower twice, adhering the two sets together with a thin foam square.
3. Cut the sentiment from the Big and Bold Sentiments out of a dark brown glitter cardstock once and Truffle ColorWheel Cardstock twice. Adhere together.
4. To create the background, die cut Wavy Lines Die out of Coral, Dahlia, Beeswax ColorWheel Cardstock and Antique White Glitter Cardstock.
5. Adhere dies cuts to an A2 card base, with the glitter strips stacked two high for added dimension and interest.
6. Adhere stems, leaves and flowers to card with liquid glue then add sentiment.
7. Finish with Gold Color Essentials Gems to flower centers.
