Hello! This card was so much fun to make. It just kept getting cuter and cuter. I knew I wanted to use the stamp set but I was looking for some different way to add repetition and then this idea struck! Most of this card was done in a very haphazard, let’s try this kind of way but I’ll give the instructions in a more sensible way. There’s still a few days left to enter your project in the July Repetition challenge at A Blog Named Hero!
1. Arrange then stamp images with Intens-ified Black Ink from the Bug You stamp set on a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock cut to 3 1/2” x 8 1/2”. Stamp the images on masking paper, cut out and place images on panel. Alternatively, you could use the coordinating dies to cut the images out and place on slimline panel later.
2. Stamp leaves so bugs are sitting on them and a few extra leaves added in empty spaces.
3. Using the Sun Background Stencil and a blending brush, blend over it with Lemon Drop Reactive Ink. Since it’s not a slimline stencil, don’t blend to the edge of stencil. Instead let the ink fade before the edge of the stencil.
4. Using the Lemon Drop Reactive Ink and blending brush, add ink to remainder of panel where the stencil didn’t reach.
5. Remove masks and color images with the following markers:
- Dragonfly- V000, V12, V15
- Caterpillar – RV13, RV14, RV17
- Ladybug – R35, R37, R39
- Butterfly – YR00, YR02, YR07, Y15, Y17
- Cricket – YG00, YG03, YG17
- Snail – BG000, BG11, BG15, B32, B34, B60
- Praying Mantis – BV00, BV02, BV04
- Leaves – G20, G21, G24, G28
6. Stamp “Hi” from the Bug You stamp set in Intens-ified Black Ink next to each bug.
7. Add liquid shimmer to dragonfly, butterfly wings and to make a snail trail. Add white gel pen highlights and black glaze pen for eyes.
8. Add panel to a slimline card base measuring 7” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 3 1/2” with double sided adhesive tape.
9. Stamp sentiment on the inside with Intens-ified Black Ink.
