How to Create an Accordion Fold Scene Card

Hello! I’ve had this idea since seeing the Coffee House stamp set from Colorado Craft Company to making. I wanted to make something similar to this Anita Jeram card I made last year. It evolved into its own creation.

1. Cut two pieces of Neenah Solar White cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”. Score and fold at 4 1/4”.

2. Cut a strip of Neenah Solar White cardstock to 5 1/2” x 1”. Score and fold at 1/2”. This is a hinge to attach both cards together. Do not attach yet.

3. Stamp images from Coffee House stamp set and the door and window from Home Sweet Home stamp set on Neenah Solar White cardstock. Cut out with coordinating Coffee House and Home Sweet Home dies. I used the following Copic markers: R32, R35, R37, R39, E 4D, E47, E49, E53, E55, E57, E59, W1, W3, W5, N2, N4, N8.

I decided to make the coffee house sign look like a chalk board. After coloring the image, I masked off the outer parts, stamped with Embossing and Watermark Ink, sprinkled on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

4. Blend Salvaged Patina Distress Ink lightly on background of front and each inner page. Start from the middle and fade out before getting to edges. I used a blending brush to help achieve a softer look.

5. Place brick stencil over inking, and add more Salvaged Patina Distress Ink, fading out as before.

6. Stamp sentiments on each inner page with Hero Arts Navy ink.

7. Hold cards so the fold is on the left. Second card lines up directly behind first card. Adhere hinge to the unseen sides of each card: back open side of card 1 and front open side of card 2. The card should open to show all four inner pages at once. See photo above.

8. Adhere images flat to each page. I used Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

9. Add shimmer pen to coffee and white highlights with a white gel pen. Add black gel pen to their eyes.

I hope you found this tutorial helpful. I love that all the Anita Jeram stamps from Colorado Craft Company work so well together!

Thanks for visiting!
