Papercraft Business September Challenge: There’s A Bear In There!

There’s a new challenge at Papercraft Business Challenge: There’s a Bear In There! Be sure to read all the way to the bottom to see the prize you could win. This is an extra special card for my daughter who just started 8th grade. The card was also her idea and the layout was inspired by a school t-shirt she has.

Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock

I began by die cutting the bear and letters from the white cardstock. I added temporary adhesive to the back of each cut piece and placed them all on a scrap piece of cardstock. I colored all the pieces with copic markers.

I next stamped the background stamp on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of navy cardstock using Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped it a few times to make it show up better on the dark cardstock.

I laid out the die cuts to decide on placement for the greeting then stamped and heat embossed it. Next I added foam tape to the letters and placed them just above the greeting. The letters are the initials for my daughter’s school.

I added foam tape to the back of the bear’s face then added the ears and eyes. I added a second layer of foam tape for the snout. I added clear lacquer pen to the nose and eyes. When they were dry I added detail with a white gel pen. I also added white dots to the rosy cheeks. Last, I added a heavy layer of Tonic Shimmer Pen to the letters.
