AECP LEVEL1 – Seasonal Scene Building

Hello! I’ve just completed Seasonal Scene Building with Nichol Spohr for Altenew Educator Certification Program. I love scene cards and Nichol Spohr is the queen of scene cards. This card was inspired by lesson 3, Background Building.

Some links below are affiliate links. At no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. I blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide over the entire panel.

Next, I placed the Liquid Marble Stencil over the panel turned at an angle. I thought it would work to create the northern lights in the sky. I alternated blending a section of Cracked Pistachio and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide.

Initially, there was too much contrast so my daughter suggested using a blending tool to drag the color down. It made a world of difference! To finish it off I added splatters of shimmer spray.

I die cut the image from the Mini Delight Polar Bear Stamp and Die Set then stamped the face using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. I added Warm Gray 1 and Colorless Blender Copic Markers.

I cut two hills from glitter cardstock in my stash. Before adhering them I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with embossing ink and white embossing powder. The taller was adhered flat to the panel. The other was adhered with foam adhesive.

I added the polar bear with more foam tape. Then added star sequins from my stash throughout with liquid glue. the panel was added to an A2 card base with adhesive tape.

This is the second month I’ve subscribed to the Mini Delight and they’ve both been fun to use without a higher price. I’m not sure I would have thought to use the Liquid Marble Stencil if not for the Seasonal Scene Building Class!

Thanks for visiting!
