Colorado Craft Company Whimsy World & Free Shipping

Hello! I’ve got a quick and easy card for you today using one of the new Whimsy World stamps and dies from Colorado Craft Company. I kept things fairly clean and simple for this card. The images are so beautiful but when I went to use them I was stumped so I found the simplest way to use it and went from there. See end of post for free shipping details.

1 Stamp the image from the Whimsy World Be Free stamp set with Intens-ified Black Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock.

2. Color the image. I kept things very simple here. I only used two colors and feathered in color not bothering to go to the end. I then came in with a second color and feathered in even less color. I used the following Copic markers:

• R20, R22
• G20, G21
• BG70, BG72
• BV0000, BV00

3. Die cut the image with the coordinating die. I originally planned for a one layer card but I wanted to add color to the background with Distress Oxide Ink so I cut it out.

4. Blend Tattered Rose on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock cut to 4” x 5 1/4” starting behind where the image will go and moving out but ending before the edge of the paper.

5. Stamp over the ink blending with Script Bold Print from Hero Arts with the same Tattered Rose Ink. Ink up where the image will go. Use a blender brush to soften the edges on the stamp and stamp. Repeat until desired effect is achieved.

I found it’s better to add less ink and build up the stamping than to go in with too much and find your background loses its subtlety.

6. Adhere the image with thin foam squares.

7. Stamp the sentiment from Big and Bold Peonies Frame stamp set with Hero Arts Charcoal ink.

8. Adhere panel to and A2 card base.

9. Add pearls with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

I imagine this card would be good for someone who is stating their first day of chemo or mourning on the anniversary of the passing of a loved one. The colors are soft but happy which is often what a person needs on days like that.
