Hello! Simon Says Stamp has a new release today called Good Luck Charm. My first card for the release is all about coloring but I’ve kept it quite simple. If you like to see a video of my coloring, please leave me a comment below.

1. Stamp the Daffodil Fields Cling Stamp on a 6” square piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Intense Black Ink.

2. Color the stamped image with Copic markers (on sale 20% off at Simon Says Stamp right now).

  • Flower petals – W0, W00
  • Inner Flower – Y00, Y02, Y08
  • Leaves – YG11, YG13, YG17
  • Background – B000
  • Shadows – N0

3. Pick the best section and die cut with second largest Rectangle Infinity die. Adhere to a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of Soft Navy Cardstock.

5. Die cut sentiment from Basic Box Card Happy Birthday three times from Soft Navy Cardstock and the shadow once from vellum. Adhere together with Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

6. Add panel to an A2 card base and adhere die cut sentiment.

7. Stamp sub-sentiment from Clean Lines Stacks stamp set with Soft Navy Ink and die cut with Sentiment Labels Wafer Dies and adhere to card.

8. Add Glossy Accents to die cut and let dry.

9. Add white gel pen highlights and white pearls throughout.

Sometimes, less is more when it comes to coloring. This is my second attempt to color this. The first one I went overboard and was too heavy handed with the coloring. This time I focused on the flower centers and kept the petals simple with just a bit of shading.

Head over to Simon Says Stamp to check out the Good Luck Charm release. Some things sell out fast and you won’t want to miss them!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Beautiful card. I love the daffodil background stamp. I’d love to see a coloring video – I have real trouble when it comes to coloring white with Copics.

  2. (((OMGosh))) I love the highlights on the happy birthday greeting! I have been trying to figure out how to make the greeting on one of my cards “pop” and this is the perfect touch!!!

  3. Love the depth and texture your coloring gives the daffodils without being overwhelming. Yes, please I would like to see a video. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
