Read on for sale and giveaway information!

Last November, the day before Thanksgiving here in the US, I received an email from Amy Kennedy from Colorado Craft Company. She told me the editor of Papercraft Essentials Magazine (UK site) loved my easel card using the Big and Bold Ruby Slippers stamp set. She wanted to know if I could create three more cards using that stamp set, the more bling and over the top the better. It also needed to be completed and sent off early the following week.

Of course I said yes! I got to work right away, pulling out the Big and Bold Ruby Slippers stamp set along with a bunch of supplies I thought I’d use. Boy, did I make a mess!

Read to the end for giveaway information!

I’m sharing those four cards here but if you want the step by step instructions you’ll need to pick up issue 208 of Papercraft Essentials Magazine (US site). If you can’t find the physical issue, you can get the digital one.

Buy 2 Get 1 Sale!

Colorado Craft Company is doing the Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale May 27th to the 30th. Buy any 2 items and receive the lesser priced item free plus free shipping in the US and $10 flat rate for international orders. The code is B2G1FREE

This is a shaker card filled with small and large bits of glitter! The stamped image is fairly easy to cut out. The sentiment is from Big and Bold Peonies Frame stamp set.

This card was inspired by the card created Adrienne Kennedy for the Colorado Craft Company blog. That’s a lot of bling, even for me!

This is the original easel card I made to share in the Colorado Craft Company and Catherine Pooler blog hop. I colored the socks the blue they should have been and colored the shoes with red copics to match the rest of the coloring.

I absolutely love this background where the yellow bricks fade into the green hills. I made a full background as a trial that’s still sitting waiting to be used. These shoes are entirely covered in Glossy Accents. Look at that shine!

I’ll admit, about halfway through creating these cards, I thought “what have I gotten myself into!” I wanted to quit. Some projects did get trashed but I am very happy with the four cards that I sent out the following Monday afternoon.

Giveaway

I’m giving away a Big and Bold Ruby Slippers stamp set to one blog reader! Leave me a comment by midnight MDT on Wednesday June 1 for a chance to win.

Thank you to Amy for giving me this opportunity and for putting up with my thousand emails over that holiday weekend!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. This is an awesome set..and love your cards using it! I would love to be the lucky winner of your give away..my granddaughter’s school just performed the play, (she was the Wicked Witch) and I would love to make some cards for her friends and her, and their drama coach! Thanks

  2. Sharon Gullikson

I LOVE these shoes of Dorothy’s…The Wizard of Oz was my very favorite movie as a kid…until I was about 17! I thought the night TWOO was on TV should be a holiday each year (back before DVDs, streaming, etc. when you had to wait for a movie to play on tv). It was magical. Your images are magical, too!

  3. I love each one of the cards! Such a great image, and beautiful coloring! The shaker card is really fun and is my favorite! Thanks for the chance to win the stamp set!
