Hello! It’s time for the August Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway! What a beautiful kit and add one they’ve brought us this month. I love the kit and can’t wait to see what kind of out of the box projects people will make with it. It wonderful that they included dies you can use if you want.

Kit Value: $70
Kit Cost: $34.99Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, August 5th and continue throughout the following week.

Adventure lies ahead with our August My Monthly Hero kit. The desert southwest is your destination as you create beautiful landscapes with the kit’s layering stencils. We’ve included four ink colors to get you started, but a rainbow of possibilities await. Add some glistening shimmer with PearlEx powder. There are dies to cut out the desert elements, and a message set with greetings that are great for cardmaking and journaling alike. Be wild and free as you enjoy the creative journey!

Kit Contents:

  • 3″ x 4″ Clear Stamp Set
  • 4 Color Layering Stencils (5.25″ x 6.5″)
  • 6 Coordinating Frame Cuts
  • 4 Ink Cubes (Caramel, Sand, Tangerine, Pine)
  • 5 Sheets Luxe White Watercolor Paper (5.5″ x 8.5″)
  • Bronze PearlEx (0.11 oz.)

1. Line up stencil a from the August My Monthly Hero kit on a piece of white cardstock. From bottom to top, blend on Pumpkin, Papaya and Pale Tomato Core Inks.

2. Line up stencil b and blend on Pumpkin, Cherry and Arctic Core Inks.

3. Line up stencil c and add Forever Green and Dandelion Core Inks.

4. Line up the final stencil and use Moss Core Ink. I used an orange blending brush without adding more ink to cover the white a bit

5. Die cut with the second largest Rectangle Infinity Die.

6. Lay stencil c over the sun again and add Hero Glitter Paste. Set aside to dry.

7. Heat emboss the sentiment with White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

8. Adhere to an A2 card with foam tape and add Clear Iridescent Jewels throughout.

1. Line up stencil a from the August My Monthly Hero kit on a piece of white cardstock. From bottom to top, blend on Grape Juice, Raspberry Jam and Ultra Pink Core Inks.

2. Line up stencil b and blend on the same inks as in step 1 for a more subtle look. The sky does not need to be done right now since this will be cut out.

3. Line up stencil c and add Grape Juice and Raspberry Jam Core Inks. Repeat this on a separate piece of white cardstock.

4. Line up the final stencil and use the same inks as step 3 and repeat on second piece of cardstock again. I used an pink blending brush without adding more ink to cover the white a bit.

5. Die cut the the cacti from the second cardstock and the top of the first one. Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment before adding any foam tape to the panel.

6. On a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock, line up stencil b then c, separately. Add the sky with Cotton Candy Core Ink and the moon with Soft Blossom Core Ink. Remove stencil and blend the remainder of the sky gently with Cotton Candy Core Ink.

7. Put Stencil c back in place and add Hero Glitter Paste. Set aside to dry.

8. Once dry, cut the panel to the same size as the die cut panel, about 1/16” border all around. Add die cut panel to sky panel with foam tape. Add to an A2 card base with foam tape.

9. Add the cacti with thin foam squares then add Violet Magic Jewels across card.

Giveaway

Hero Arts will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, August 7th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

Changing up the colors made such a difference for these two cards. The purple one is my favorite, even though I should have skipped the foam tape on the back panel. I can’t wait to see what you do with this kit!
