Hello! The Stay Crafty Challenge for August is it’s Hip to be Square! Use a square element on your card or make a square card. Today, I’ve got a fun square card for you.

1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 1/2” x 11” and fold in half. Use Square Infinity Dies to cut a window in front of card.

2. Die cut a 5” frame with a 4 1/4” opening using Square Infinity Dies. Sandwich a piece of Acetate between the frame and the card.

3. Die cut the pinwheel from the Lawn Ornaments Fancy Dies out of white cardstock once and each colored cardstock twice it of Ultra Pink, Cranberry, Papaya, Canary, Shamrock, Paradise, Lapis and Iris. Separate the pieces entirely and adhere to white die cut as shown above. Set aside second colored set.

4. Die cut the stick twice from Pitch Black cardstock and the grass twice from Meadow cardstock. Adhere sticks to the front and back of acetate with Precision Glue XL. Adhere the grass to the front of card with a thin foam square and the inside of card with liquid glue.

5. Adhere the pinwheel to front of card with thin foam squares.

6. Cut the four sections for the inside as shown and adhere to the inside of the card with liquid glue with back of die cut showing lined up with pinwheel on card front.

7. Die cut the small cloud from Rainbow Infinity Dies from white cardstock. Die cut the large cloud from the same set from white cardstock that’s been folded and is at least big enough to accommodate cloud. Add Mist Core Ink to clouds with a blending brush and adhere to card. The folded cloud will be a place to sign the card and write a note.

8. Cut apart the sentiment from the Cockatoo stamp set and stamp on acetate with Black Stazon Ink on either side of stick.

9. Add Color Essentials Gems in Opal to the holes in pinwheel front. Add a large sequin to inside and outside pinwheel and a white pearl to center on the card front only.

You can enter the Stay Crafty Challenge by uploading your project on the challenge post of the Hero Arts blog. You have until September 4 to enter. Two winners will be chosen to receive a $50 Hero Arts gift card.
