Simon Says Stamp Dear Friend Release Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Dear Friend Blog Hop and Giveaway! Today I’ve done a lot of ink blending using a new cling stamp and new die set.

Giveaway

Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from the blog comment section. They’ll choose the winner and post on the Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday the 24th of May.

1. Stamp the Peony Background Cling on a piece of white cardstock using, from top, Morning, Twilight and Galaxy Pawsitively Saturated Inks. Use a blending brush where each color end on stamp to soften transition.

2. Using the inks from step 1, blend on ink over stamping with the same color as the stamping. Blend over this with Heather, Violet and Iris Pawsitively Saturated Inks, using the lightest color for the lightest color already applied and the same for medium and dark inks.

3. Splatter with White Gouache and Iridescent Shimmer Spray. Let dry.

4. Blend Peachy, Grapefruit and Mandarin Pawsitively Saturated Inks on a piece of white cardstock large enough to cover So Happy For You Both Die. Cut it from the blended panel, plus three times from white cardstock. Adhere together with Bearly Arts Precision Glue. Die cut shadow from vellum.

5. Cut stamped panel to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhere to an A2 card base with foam tape. Add the die cut sentiment and vellum to card.

6. Emboss the sentiment from Extra Proud stamp set on Pitch Black Cardstock with White Detail Embossing Powder. Cut into a strip using Sentiment Labels Dies.

7. Add sentiment to card and finish off with sequins from the Disco Party Sequins Mix across it.

  1. Love this set of inks – Morning, Twilight and Galaxy and they look so pretty with the Peony Background! 🙂

  2. What a great sentiment, it could be used for so many occasions. Love your card, the blue background makes the sentiment pop.

  3. Very pretty card – love the soft colours. Thanks so much for the inspiration and chance to win
    Pauline xx

  4. Nice cards. I would so use the word die cuts often. I would cut off the “both” to use for a single person.

  5. I never would have thought to stack the sequins! You did a great job on the card – thanks for sharing!

  6. Love the softness of the ombre blue of the stamped peony background. The vellum was also a subtle touch to the sentiment. I never thought to double up on the sequins before. Always something new to try.

  7. Okay, the colors drew me in (I like any color as long as it’s blue) but you gave me a totally new technique in blending the colors ON the stamp….and I’ve been stamping for over 20 years! Wonderful!

  8. Perfect! I just had a wedding yesterday and could have used the sentiment for my card. Good color combo as well.

  9. It’s wonderful to see stamps/cards for weddings! Engagements,nanniversaries!

    And happy birthday yesterday!😊🎂

Love the blending and the splatter on the card. Great card for a wedding. Colors you chose work together very well. Beautiful Job!!

  11. Your card is lovely! I am so impressed by all the different ways this peony stamp set can be used. 🥰

  12. Wow!! Your matched ink blending over the same stamped inks inspires me!! The ink blended title as well as these color combos! Even your sequins match!! You are rocking this!!! Such a fun release and blog hop!! Beverly Jordan @jordanbev5
