Hero Arts 2023 Holiday Catalog Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to the Hero Arts 2023 Holiday Catalog release blog hop and giveaway! Oh my goodness, this release is amazing! I immediately fell in love with the peeking characters I used today but there’s so much more. Have you seen the large number dies? What about the Tone on Tone Shimmer Sprays? I need them all! Anyway, read to the end for giveaway details.

The die cuts on this card are paper pieced, meaning I cut one die from multiple colors then adhered everything onto one die cut base, usually cut from white. You don’t need to cut the entire die from multiple colors. Use a small scrap to only cut what you need. I used a small strip to die cut the eyes and a tiny piece for the carrot. Things were easy to snip apart with micro scissors.

8/24 8:30pm I just noticed that many products mentioned in my post are not linked, as is my usual style. Everything I mentioned is listed and linked at the end of this post. I’ll fix the post when I am able. Sorry for any trouble this causes you!

1. Stamp the Fa La La Bold Prints using Cherry Core Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock. Use a blending brush and a light amount of ink to soften the stamping. Splatter with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and white gouache. Set aside to dry.

2. Die cut the Peeking Elf Fancy Die from white cardstock and a variety of cardstock colors. I used Shamrock, Cranberry, Ivory, Woodland and Pitch Black. Cut apart pieces and assemble on white die cut with Precision Glue XL.

3. Die cut the Candy Cane Fancy Die from Cranberry Cardstock for the large bow and solid candy cane and White Glitter Cardstock for the detail candy cane. Adhere candy canes together.

4. Die cut the Merry Christmas die from Christmas Holidays Stamp and Cut XL out of white cardstock four times, leaving one in the piece it was cut from. Cut the shadow once from white cardstock.

5. For the die cut left in the negative, use low tape tape to block off all but one letter at a time. Blend on ink alternating Cranberry, Cherry, Fresh Lawn and Pine Core Inks. Splatter with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and adhere to three other die cuts then to shadow layer.

6. Adhere candy cane to stamped background then add die cut sentiment. Add the elf with foam squares over sentiment. I added liquid glue to hands.

7. Stamp the Christmas Sentiment Strips using Cherry Core Ink and cut apart with the Sentiment Strip Fancy Die. Adhere sentiment with liquid glue.

8. Place panel on an A2 card base with strong adhesive tape and finish card by adding Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen to eyes, white gel pen highlights and red enamel dots.

1. Stamp the Merry Christmas Letters Bold Prints using Indigo Core Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock. Use a blending brush and a light amount of ink to soften the stamping. Splatter with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and white gouache. Set aside to dry.

2. Die cut the Peeking Snowman Fancy Die from white cardstock and a cardstock colors including White Glitter, Cranberry, Pitch Black, Shamrock and Papaya cardstock. Cut apart pieces and assemble on white die cut with Precision Glue XL.

3. Die cut the US Mailbox Fancy Die from Lapis, Nautical and silver mirror cardstock and the envelopes from Cranberry and white cardstock. Cut mailbox pieces apart and adhere to Lapis die cut. You’ll also need the small bow from the Candy Cane Fancy Die in Cranberry.

4. Adhere the stamped background to a top fold A2 card base so the “Merry Christmas” is at the very top and mostly visible above the die cuts. Cut a piece of white cardstock “snowdrift” for bottom of card front.

5. Adhere die cuts to card using thin foam squares and Precision Glue XL. Add Clear Lacquer Pen to Snowman’s eyes and nose and the berries on his hat. Use White Nuvo Drops as snow under and on mailbox and on snowdrift. If you want to use the White Puff Embossing Powder, do so before adding the snowman! The heat gun will burn the the snowman! (Ask me how I know)

6. Use a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiment Strips Stamp Set stamped in the first card. Adhere with liquid glue.

7. Finish card with white gel pen highlights and blue and white enamel dots.
