Hero Arts December 2023 My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hello! I’m joining in the countdown to the release of the December My Monthly Hero kits. Be sure to read to the end for a giveaway and come back Monday for the December My Monthly Hero release!

1. Paint Gold Metallic Glimmer Ink on a piece of watercolor paper.

2. While ink is still wet press number stamps from the Premium Kit throughout panel to remove some of the ink. Let dry.

3. Paint the same stamps with the Gold Metallic Glimmer Ink directly on the number stamps and press into dry panel.

4. Stamp smaller numbers with black ink across panel. Use a fine tip applicator to add Sea Salt Reactive Re-inker to numbers.

I did not have the Sea Salt Reactive Reinker when I created these cards so I used white acrylic paint. I think the reinker will result in the softer more translucent look, which I think would look better.

5. Splatter panel with Sea Salt Reactive Re-inker and let dry.

6. Cut panel to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhere to an A2 sized piece of watercolor paper. I used a piece of watercolor paper that didn’t turn out how I’d hoped. Some of the gold I had added showed at the edges.

7. Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of watercolor paper and cut to strips. Add Gold Metallic Glimmer Ink along the edges. Add to panel with thin foam tape.

WIN A KIT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT: Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from comments left across all countdown posts on the Hero Arts blog. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, December 4th, before the kit launches at 10:00 am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win. Good luck!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Wow, I would never have thought using the techniques you used. Thanks for sharing them with us. I can see a lot of Hero Arts items being added to my wish list.

  2. Love your use of different sized numbers. Clever to use stamps to remove ink. I’ll definitely be giving that technique a try!

  3. Wow – I bet this is even more gorgeous in person! It’s always so hard to capture glimmer in a photo but this is beautiful!
