Hero Arts April 2024 My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway

It’s time for the April 2024 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero blog hop and giveaway! You’ve probably come here from Ilina’s blog. I’ve got five kit cards to share and one card using add-on products. There’s also a giveaway at the bottom of this post.

Celebrate the whimsical charm and timeless tradition of folk art with our April My Monthly Hero kit. This kit features three Color Layering Stencils with butterflies and flowers that are perfect for Spring cardmaking. Also included are sixteen coordinating dies and a Cover Plate die that partially cuts the design to allow for elements to pop up. A clear message stamp set with nine everyday messages and three beautiful Reactive Ink Cubes complete this enchanting kit. The Premium kit also includes a 4″ x 6″ Bird and Flower Clear Stamp set in a lovely hand-drawn style that comes with thirteen coordinating dies. Also included are sixteen colorful washi stickers that are perfect for quick cardmaking or using in planners.

This card uses only the stencil from the Classic Kit for the background. On the butterflies I added a heavier amount of ink to the centers.

This card uses the inks included in the Classic Kit with the stencil. First, I added a layer of Taffy Reactive Ink then without switching stencils I added a layer of Splash Reactive Ink. I applied the ink lighter on the first stencil and heaviest with the third.

I did not have the dies when creating these cards so everything has been fussy cut and may look different from die cut images.

I added the layering stencils to the background using only Splash Reactive Ink. I stamped the images from the Premium Kit and colored them using the Reactive Inks included in the Classic Kit and a Water Brush Pen.

I stamped the images to make a custom background and again colored them with the Reactive Inks.

The background is a light blend of Splash Reactive Ink with images stamped and colored as above.

1. Ink Floral Trove Stencil over a piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock using Nautical, Spicy Mustard and Soft Blossom Core Inks.

2. Stamp over panel with Script Bold Prints using Contour Ink.

3. Splatter panel with Black and Shimmer Tone on Tone Metallic Spray.

4. Die cut flowers and foliage from the Bird Family Fancy Die. Color using the inks used above. Add splatter.

5. Emboss sentiment from Folk Animals Bundle with White Detail Embossing Powder then blend Nautical Core Ink over.

6. Add panel to an A2 card base then add sentiment and flowers with Precision Glue and thin foam squares.

7. Add Hero Hues Translucent Enamel Dots in Blues, Pinks and Sunset.

Wow Jennifer, you went all out! Your cards are all lovely, though I’d have to say my faves are the folk art birds in pinks and blues.

  10. The last card is my favorite! The accent flower dies are so cute. I am inspired by it.
