The May Stencil of the Month, “Dots of Summer” from Spellbinders is such a sweet set that can be used for an unlimited number of card styles. I even used it to decorate a gift box on another card. You can go bold as I’ve done here or create a more subtle tone on tone background.

1. Place stencil 1 from May Stencil of the Month over a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” panel of white cardstock. Ink lightly with a rainbow of ink colors. The colors I used are listed and linked below.
2. Repeat with stencil 2 and 3 using a darker ink each time.
3. Repeat for stencils 4 and 5 using a lighter ink each time. My idea was that using a lighter ink without wiping off darker ink will create a different shade each time.
4. Splatter panel with Raven Splatter Effects. Let dry.

5. Die cut the pieces for the sun from the May Stitching Die of the Month out of white cardstock and ink with the same pinks and yellows used for stencil. Ink mouth with Charcoal Pawsitively Saturated Ink.
6. Stamp sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Cut out with coordinating die.
7. Adhere sun and sentiment to card panel with thin foam squares and liquid glue where sentiment overlaps sun.
8. Add white gel pen highlights to sun.
