Hero Arts March 2023 My Monthly Hero Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to the March Hero Arts My Monthly Hero blog hop and giveaway! I’m sharing four fruity cards featuring two using only products from the Classic Kit and two from the Premium Kit. Be sure to read to the bottom for giveaway information and links to all the designers along the hop.

Take a trip to the farmer’s market with our March My Monthly Hero release. We have fruits and veggies galore! Our Classic Kit includes a 6×8 stamp set loaded with various fruits that are fun to color, fruit-themed puns and some everyday messages as well. Use these stamps alone, or pair them with a fabulous fruit-themed 6×6 cling background stamp. Also included is a packet of the most adorable little clay fruit, great for shaker cards or to use as embellishments. The kit is rounded out with an ink cube and a generous amount of watercolor paper and cardstock.

In addition to the previous items, this Premium version of the kit includes additional elements to extend the potential for more cards and techniques – even more Creativity In The Box! There is a fantastic window die, carrying through the theme of fruits and vegetables. Also included are two of our brand new Neon Brights Liquid Watercolors for you to try, and a set of mini watercolor brushes. The kit is rounded out with an ink cube and a generous amount of watercolor paper and cardstock.

Premium Kit

1. Emboss the Fruit Cling stamp from the Classic Kit using White Detail Embossing Powder and Embossing and Watermark Ink on watercolor paper.

2. Add a wash of clean water over the watercolor paper then add liquid watercolors starting at one end of the rainbow. Repeat until desired effect is achieved. Let dry. The watercolors I used are listed and linked below. The Premium Kit does contain two Bottles of Liquid Watercolors

3. Stamp the cherry from the classic kit with Intens-ified Black Ink and color with Copic Markers. Cut out with coordinating dies.

4. Stamp the sentiment from the classic kit on vellum with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. Add Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

5. Cut the watercolor panel to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” and adhere to an A2 card base with strong adhesive.

6. Cut the vellum down to fit the card, add the cherry die cut and attach vellum to card with Precision Glue XL under cherry and sentiment.

Premium Kit

1. Drop a small amount of Neon Green Liquid Watercolor, from Premium Kit, and Neon Yellow Liquid Watercolor on a piece of plastic packaging. Spritz with water.

Press the watercolor paper on to the plastic. Repeat until desired effect is achieved. Add more water or watercolor as needed.

2. Die cut the fancy die included in the Premium kit from white cardstock. Color the images with Copic Markers. Add a bit of dimension with a gray marker along the left and bottom outside of each image. Soften it with a blender marker.

3. Stamp the sentiment from the Classic Kit on the watercolor piece using Intens-ified Black Ink. adhere to an A2 card base with a strong adhesive.

4. Add the die cut panel to card and finish it off with a small clay fruit from the classic kit.

Classic Kit

1. Heat emboss the Fruit Cling, included in the Classic Kit with White Detail Embossing Powder and Embossing and Watermark Ink. blend on Tangerine Core Ink. Cut panel to 4 1/4” x 3 1/2”.

2. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 2” with Intens-ified Black Ink.

3. Stamp the orange with Intens-ified Black Ink. Color with Copic Markers and cut out with coordinating die.

4. Add both panels to an A2 card base. Place a very thin piece of gold cardstock where the panels join. Add die cut with thin foam squares.

5. Finish card with a few clay fruits from the Classic Kit.

Classic Kit

1. Stamp the apple four times. Color with copic markers and cut out with coordinating dies.

2. Cut a piece of kiwi cardstock at an angle and adhere to an A2 card base.

3. Stamp the sentiment with Embossing and Watermark Ink. Sprinkle on White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

4. Adhere apples on the diagonal with foam squares. Finish card off with a clay apple.

  4. Wow! That first card w/ the emboss resist and rainbow colors knocked me out! Love that! The second one w/ the big fancy die is also great, but I am on the non-premium plan. I hated to make that choice but I have skyrocketing utility (gas/oil) bills, so I have to be a little careful. Squeeze the day is beautiful and I adore the ascending diagonal row of apple slices and punny “to the core” sentiment. You absolutely crushed it!
