Colorado Craft Company Winter Holiday Release

Welcome to the Colorado Craft Company Winter Holiday Release blog hop and giveaway! I’m sharing three oversized tags using these adorable mug stamps from the new Kris Lauren Collection. They turned out adorable but they were also a comedy of errors and a lesson in letting go.

Giveaways

Use a Colorado Craft Company designer’s affiliate links to make a purchase and you will be entered for a chance to win either the Anita Jeram release or the Kris Lauren release! Your choice! When you use my affiliate links to make a purchase, I get a small commission which helps me continue to bring you great content!

One person from each blog or instagram post comments section will be picked to win one set from this release. The more comments you leave, the more chances to win. The giveaways end December 3rd at Midnight ET. At the bottom of this post you’ll find the list of designers.

Oops! I forgot to cut the opening by the handle when I made my mask. I wasn’t able to stamp again but I did mask off the stamped image and added red ink.

1. Stamp the images on a piece of white cardstock and masking paper. The mug and toppings are separate and you may need to mask areas as you stamp. The stamp sets I used are Cozy Reindeer Mug, Santa Cheer Mug and Snowman Hug Mug.

2. Die cut tags to desired shape. I used Postage Stamps Infinity Dies, Arches Infinity Dies and Hexagon Infinity Dies. Make sure you do not leave masks on when die cutting! They will be difficult to remove later.

Here’s a tip: don’t leave the masks in place while die cutting the tag. I ripped parts of Santa’s face.

3. Place masks then add a background stamp to the piece. I used Fa La La Bold Prints, Jingle Bells Script Bold Prints and Etched Winter Swirls Bold Prints with Cherry Core Ink and Mist Core Ink.

4. Blend the same ink over stamped background. Splatter with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. Remove masks.

5. Color images with OLO Markers. Add White Blizzard Nuvo Drops and Glossy Accents for interest and dimension. Let dry.

The snowman’s face ripped too but I decided to just keep going. To keep the reindeer from ripping, I heated the cardstock from behind then slowly peeled off the mask.

6. Stamp sentiments on white cardstock with Cherry, Espresso or Paradise Core Inks. Emboss on Cherry Cardstock with White Detail Embossing Powder. Some tags were cut using Assorted Tags Die Set and others were cut into strips then a hole was punched.

7. Punch a hole at top of tag and add a piece of red cord. Attach the small tags then tie off. Finish with white gel pen highlights.

  4. Such cute tags! And you can’t even tell that you had issues with the masking being removed (great hint though about hearing it up slightly!!). These designs came out PERFECT!
