Hello! Today I’m sharing two cards I made with dies from the new Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken. The dies are designed to make an interactive card when used with the Make a Scene Card Base Etched Dies, though mine don’t use it today. Spellbinders is having a sale on machines and tools through March 1.

1. Die cut all the images in the Rolling Along Etched Dies set using Neenah Solar White cardstock.

2. Color all die cuts with Copic markers. I used:

  • Grass – YG03, YG13, YG17
  • Bicycle, Gift, Basket – BG000, BG11, BG15, RV00, RV13, RV14
  • Flowers – E19, E97

3. Stamp circle from Trip Around the Sun stamp set on Canary cardstock cut to 3 3/4” x 5” using Orange Soda ink from Hero Arts.

4. Stamp the dotted rays around the sun. This is where I made a mistake. I pressed too hard and ink that was on the red rubber between the rays got on my card.

5. In order to hide the smudge I used the same to ink to add splatter to the background. I also hoped the sentiment die cut from the panel would help hide it too.

6. Assemble the bike, adhering the pieces with liquid glue. Place on panel but don’t adhere yet.

7. Decide how high sentiment from the Make a Scene Bold Greetings Etched Dies needs to be and die cut it from panel. Cut it three more times from white cardstock. Adhere these together with liquid glue. Be sure to save the inner pieces of the letter B cut from Canary cardstock.

8. Add foam tape to the back of the panel, thoroughly covering the die cut opening. Add the die cut letters. Remember to add the centers of the letter B.

9. Add the die cut pieces with liquid glue. The bike should sit between the two grass layers.

10. Place panel on a white A2 card base.

11. Glimmer sentiment from the Mini Everyday Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Die set and add to card with Darice foam strips. I used the Aura foil on Papaya cardstock.

12. Add Glossy Accents to the flower centers and die cut sentiment.

1. Die cut all the images in the Cozy Home Scene Etched Dies on Neenah Solar White cardstock.

2. Color the images with Copic markers. I used:

  • House – B93, B95
  • Roof – N02, N04, N06
  • Bushes – YG03, YG13, YG17
  • Door – E53, E55, E57
  • Window Frames – N0, 0
  • Clouds – BG000, 0

3. On a slimline card base, blend Ocean Breeze ink.

4. Die cut the sentiment shadow skewed towards the left, leaving about an inch below. Cut the excess with a paper trimmer.

5. Mask off the shadow portion and blend on Grassy Knoll ink to the bottom. I left the shadow white as if it was a cloud. Adhere to card base.

6. Make sure the bottom of the house is cut straight. Add Canary cardstock behind windows and adhere to right of sentiment flush with the green piece.

7. Die cut the sentiment from Neenah Solar White cardstock. Color with RV00, RV13, RV14 Copic markers, with the darkest at the bottom for an ombré look. Adhere to shadow with liquid glue. Apply glossy accents over words.

8. Add clouds and tiny hearts. Use shimmer pen on clouds. Accent house with white gel pen.

9. Add sentiment from Mini Everyday Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Die set with foam strips. I used Polished Brass foil on white cardstock.

Creating die cut heavy cards can take quite a while. I love making these kind of cards even if they are time consuming. There are some things you can do to speed up the process. Die cut the images from colored cardstock. Keep your pieces organized and make sure they won’t blow away. I lost several flowers from the first card!
