Hello! I’m so excited to be a part of the release blog hop for the June 2021 My Monthly Hero. This is definitely one of my favorites. I had a lot of fun with this clean and simple easel card. I hope it will inspire you to create some fun cards with this kit!

Read to the bottom for giveaway information and links to the other designers in the hop.

Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, June 11th and continue throughout the following week.

1. Stamp the cat and balloon images from the June My Monthly Hero kit. Color with Copic markers and die cut. I used the following markers: N0, N2, N4, R30, R32, R35, RV00, RV13, RV21, YR00, YR02, YR07, Y11, Y15, Y17, YG00, YG03, YG17, BG000, BG11, BG15, B000, B32, B34, BV00, BV04, BV08, V000, V12, V15

2. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4” x 11”. Score the long side at 5 1/2” and 2 3/4”. Don’t fold it yet.

3. Blend the clouds from the Clouds and Grass Stencil with Pool Party and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks on the scored half of the card base. Tape off above the 5 1/2” score line so ink doesn’t get on the back of the card.

4. Repeat step 3 on a piece of white cardstock measuring 2 3/4” x 4 1/4”.

5. Stamp the sentiment with Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink by either cutting it apart or by stamping the first two words and then repositioning the stamp for the third word. Be sure the stamp is very clean and dry before repositioning. I chose the second option.

6. On the smaller piece, stamp the sentiment and the paw print with Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink. Adhere to the inside of the card base.

7. In order to make the die cuts strong enough to stay upright above the fold, die cut blanks of each image two times. Cut two Nesting Cloudy Infinity Dies three times. Adhere with liquid glue.

The cloud infinity dies I used are discontinued but they have a different version available.

8. Fold the score lines. Reinforce the folds thoroughly with a bone folder. This will help the card stay open.

9. Adhere the die cuts to the bottom half of the card front. Make sure no adhesive is above the fold. Add white gel pen highlights.

10. When folded up the front of the card should catch on the cloud panel inside the card. You could use two pieces of cardstock if it doesn’t stand up well.

Hero Arts will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, June 13th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

  8. Dear Jennifer – Your card is GLORIOUS! First, the easel is so clever, so fresh. Second, the way you colored those balloons is first-rate! GORGEOUS! Third, the way you colored the kitty is the most realistic of any card in this entire hop, and you’re my last site to visit, so I have seen all the cats. Last, I LOVE the cloud background. You ROCK!!! Your card is AMAZING!!
